Kim Weaver has been playing the oboe for 5 years under the instruction of Bruce Biggin. The proud mother of three and doting grandmother of one has played with TrueNorth Philharmonic since its inception along with her husband Dave (trombone/string bass). Kim’s foray into the world of music began with the clarinet and 5 years ago switched to the double reed side of the fence when a slightly used oboe was dumped in her lap.
In addition to TrueNorth, Kim has performed with Lorain County Community Orchestra, Patriots Band, Parma Symphony, Hermit Club, Beck Center for the Performing Arts and a myriad of area churches. When not practicing or making reeds, Kim owns and shows a spectacular Arabian horse and works part time as a surgical nurse at Cleveland Laser and Eye Center.

Bruce Biggin’s playing experience spans eight orchestras, four community bands, pit orchestra for three community theaters, two summers at the John Mack oboe camp and several International Double Reed Society conventions (and a stray coffee house)! As a teacher of private oboe lessons, Bruce has had some of his proudest moments by coaching three students to win highly coveted spots in the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.
Two remarkable oboists, Loyal (Bud) Mould and Danna Sundet have shaped the oboist/English Horn player that Bruce is today. Bruce has worked as a pharmacist at Metrohealth Medical Center for the past 27 years dispensing miracles and hope.
Timothy Stohs has music degrees from Valparaiso and Wayne State Universities. He has played trumpet with community bands and orchestras in New York, Michigan and Ohio. Mr. Stohs is currently a member of the Lutheran Wind Ensemble and director of the Bay Village Community Band. He is also a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church choir and the band director at Bethany Lutheran School in Parma. Tim has been active in the world of drum and bugle corps for most of his life. Beginning with his membership in the Ridley Park Rangers (PA) and the Cleveland Caballeros in the 1960’s, he was also music director and arranger for the Rochester Patriots for thirteen years and last summer taught Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps while on their national tour. Tim’s children are both professional musicians and the parents of his three beautiful grandchildren. Tim lives in Westlake with his wife Linda.
